Dita Holifield

Dita Holifield. . .
the name is synonymous with country music in Hawaii.
And for good reason, Dita has spent the last decade honing her high-energy sound on virtually every stage in the Hawaiian Islands, from the small stages of Hawaii's military bases to the top concert venues of the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena and the Waikiki Shell. Not limited to only Hawaii's concert venues, Dita has also toured nationally as the opening acts for legendary impressionist, Rich Little, in cities such as: Reno, NV; Las Vegas, NV; Myrtle Beach, SC; and Branson, MO.
All this hard work has paid off and not gone unnoticed by the mainland recording acts that come to Hawaii to perform. Dita and her 7 piece band, The Next Big Thing, have been requested to poen for such famous acts as: Willie Nelson, Brooks and Dunn, LeAnne Rimes, Joe Diffie, the Bellamy Brothers, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Randy Travis, Glenn Campbell, and the Judds to name a few.
A native of Lubbock, Texas, Dita holds a music degree in piano performance from Southern Methodist University and a Masters degree in music from the University of Calgary. As a singer-songwriter in Hawaii, Dita also enjoys a career as a commercial jingle writer and producer of island contemporary music. Her first CD 'Anything Goes' sold over 20,000 copies locally. Dita has just finished another project 'Moment of a Lifetime' in Nashville, TN.
2003 ha been another banner year for Dita as the opening act for Willie Nelson and Family (the Birthday Tour) and Neal McCoy as well as headlining a USO tour for the troops in Okinawa, Japan. The hit single 'Moment of a Lifetime' is blazing theough the charts locally and has already garnered interest from the States.
Dita enjoys touring but always returns to Hawaii, the place she holds most dear to her heart.
